Board of Visitors

Board of Visitors

The Anderson University Board of Visitors was established in 1989 as an important advisory group for the University. The Board of Visitors is made up of outstanding men and women who occupy positions of significant leadership and influence.  In addition, these individuals are selected on the basis of their willingness to share their ideas, initiatives and resources for the benefit and advancement of the University.

The board currently consists of 115 members. The board is filled by invitation only, with input from current members of the AU Board of Visitors and the Anderson University Board of Trust. The University President, Senior Vice President for Development and Presidential Affairs, Associate Vice President for Business and Industry Engagement are responsible for making appointments to the Board of Visitors.

The board conducts several breakfast networking meetings throughout the year which feature university leaders and special guest speakers.  The board is also briefed by the University President who will provide updates on achievements, initiatives, and planning.

All Board of Visitors members agree to serve a three-year term and are expected to make an annual financial investment at the President’s Club level ($1,000) or higher during the fiscal year (June 1 – May 31). Board members are also helpful in identifying additional potential supporters of the university.

Membership terms run June 1-May 31, but members may be elected at any time during the year. Board membership is not geographically restricted; however, a significant number of current members come primarily from the Upstate of South Carolina. Board members may be reappointed to additional terms.
